Explorer Program

Gallatin Volunteer Fire Department is excited to announce our new Explorer Program! This program is for youth (boys and girls) ages 15 to 17. This program teaches how to be a Firefighter, and/or Emergency Medical Personnel through intense training. This program teaches teamwork, dedication, reliability and independence. This program will also teach youth the importance of community involvement.

They will have on-the-job and classroom training, allowing them to earn certifications related to Firefighting and Emergency Medical that they will be able to carry with them throughout their lives. Those enrolled in the program will have the opportunity to fight live grass/woods fires and train with experienced Firefighters.

Once they have graduated from the program or turned 18 years of age, they will have the opportunity to become one of the department's active members.
